Massage

We offer a very wide range of different styles of massage:

Aromatherapy Baby Massage Deep Tissue Massage Holistic Massage Hot Stone Massage Indian Head Massage Pregnancy Massage Shiatsu Structural Massage Sports Massage Swedish Massage Thai Yoga Massage Therapeutic Massage

We have a large team of massage therapists, so we are able to offer at least 2 or 3 different types of massage (sometimes more) 6 days a week. All our practitioners are fully qualified, registered, experienced therapists and will be pleased to respond to any particular requests you may have e.g. an especially deep or light treatment.

All practitioners undergo a full treatment assessment and interview, and are required to supply excellent references before joining our team. We aim to meet and exceed your expectations!

In addition to the above massage treatments, we also offer an On-Site Service where our team comes to visit your conference/event/workplace. We have been the official On-Site Massage provider for the Sussex Police Authority across the county from 2006-09, and would be pleased to quote for your needs - please call or email with your requirements.

What is Massage?

Massage
involves the manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm and stress; and to promote health and well being.

Massage can relieve deeply held tensions in the muscle tissues so that blood circulation is improved, digestion is aided and the lymphatic system works more effectively. Massage is a natural drug-free cure, promotes a feeling of well being and revitalisation, and is effective for men, women and children of all ages.

What happens in a treatment?

All Massage treatments are different, varying from Swedish/Holistic/Therapeutic Massage which is received unclothed (with underwear on) under covers and lying down, to Thai Yoga Massage and Shiatsu where you remain fully clothed throughout.

For most Massage treatments you lie on a comfortable couch in a warm room whilst your therapist uses gliding strokes initially, such as 'effleurage', to soothe your muscles. Other techniques may be gradually introduced during the treatment such as 'petrissage', 'hacking', 'cupping' and 'tapotement', depending on your needs.

Thai Yoga Massage and Shiatsu are different - are both performed at floor level on a futon, a Japanese-style cotton mat.

Each of the above treatments has a full explanation on its own page - simply click the link you require.
