All our practitioners are fully qualified, registered, experienced therapists and will be pleased to respond to any particular requests you may have e.g. an especially deep or light treatment.
All practitioners undergo a full treatment assessment and interview, and must supply excellent references before joining our team. We aim to meet and exceed your expectations!
In addition to the above massage treatments, we also offer an On-Site Service where our team comes to visit your conference/event/workplace. We are the official On-Site Massage provider for the Sussex Police Authority across the county. We would be pleased to quote for your needs - please call or email with your requirements.
Baby Massage
Massage is the oldest, most natural healing art. In Oriental
and Eastern cultures it has been used for centuries as a routine part of childcare
from birth. Although mentioned by early Greek and Roman physicians (e.g. Hypocrates
and Galen) it has only comparatively recently been accepted in the West.
Touch is the baby’s most developed sense at birth and massage provides numerous benefits for both baby and parent. It gives parents greater confidence in handling their baby, promoting mutual trust and lessening parental anxiety. It is calming for both parent and baby and provides a time for affectionate expression and communication.
Massage encourages the development of strength with flexibility and muscular co-ordination therefore also promoting better posture and balance in later life. It provides tactile stimulation and relieves stress and traumas (including residues from birth). It stimulates the immune system and circulation. It aids digestion and elimination and relieves pain, i.e. colic. It soothes the baby and helps promote sleep (therefore also helping the parents sleep!). It improves the texture of the skin’s elasticity and resilience.
Above all baby massage should be a time of mutual relaxation,
communication and pleasure. And remember...
a relaxed baby eventually becomes a relaxed adult! more...

Deep Tissue
Massage
Deep trigger points and stretching techniques are used with
Deep Tissue Massage. These are particularly beneficial for long standing
problems. One common area of focus is the shoulder and neck area. Muscle tension
here often causes excessive pain and headaches and responds well to deep tissue
treatments.
It usually takes between four to six treatments to alleviate the condition.
However clients should find their muscles beginning to feel more relaxed after
only one session.

Indian Head Massage
By massaging and relaxing the cranial, facial, neck and shoulder
muscles, Indian Head Massage effectively eases day-to-day aches and
pains caused by stress, whilst allowing the mind to gently drift into a meditative
state. This has been practised for thousands of years by women in India. Not
only does it promote strong, healthy, shiny hair; it also stimulates the body’s
natural powers to heal it self.
What happens in a treatment?
You sit comfortably in a chair and remain fully clothed. Your therapist works on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face using a variety of movements (both relaxing and invigorating) to relieve accumulated tension, stimulate circulation and restore joint mobility.
What conditions can Indian Head Massage help?
Indian Head Massage can help with stress, tiredness, tension, headaches, repetitive strain injury, muscular pain, insomnia, infections, circulation problems and high blood pressure. Other disorders that can be alleviated include eye strain, sinus trouble, tinnitus, jaw ache and pre-menstrual tension.

Hot Stone Massage
Hot Stone Massage is a deeply relaxing full
body therapy using hot, smooth, basalt stones of varying sizes. The sensation
of warmth from the stones used in combination with massage is unlike that
of any other therapy.
What happens in a Hot Stone Massage treatment?
The stones are heated in water, and then laid along the spine, and on key points on the body, to reduce muscular tension. The rest of the body is then massaged with further hot stones, as well as Swedish massage techniques, resulting in the whole body receiving the benefit of this deep treatment. The heat of the stones penetrates the muscles, and relaxes them to allow manipulation of a greater intensity than with regular massage.
What conditions can Hot Stone
Massage help?
Hot stone massage
can help relieve muscular pain and tension, as well as boosting the immune
system and improving circulation. It also brings a deep sense of relaxation
and calm, and can be helpful for many stress related conditions (such as insomnia,
anxiety, exhaustion and nervous tension).

Sports
Injury Massage
Sports injuries
require specialised treatment plans to help promote the recovery and repair
of tissues. The reduction of swelling and guidance on exercises appropriate
for the return to normal function is only part of the return to full fitness
and well being.
Every injury is treated according to each individuals requirements, and takes into consideration their physical structure, nutritional intake, determination and level of physical activity they wish to achieve.
Old injury areas often respond favourably to Soft Tissue Release. This works physiologically by breaking adhesions that are binding fibres, and this movement causes this to happen in exactly the right direction that is needed to re-align the fibres so that they can provide proper function. It also works neurologically by allowing the nervous system to relax the tissues in the area. This then gives the affected area the means to return to its full function.
Muscle Energy Techniques, or MET, is a collective name for a variety of techniques that stretch, strengthen or break down fibrous adhesions. It also encourages the person with the injury to actively take part by providing the primary force in treating the injury. This is useful if the area being treated is tender, then, you, the client, feel more in control of the level of discomfort and can give feedback to the therapist.
These techniques can also be used away from the treatment room. The method works by re-educating the nervous system into relaxing the injured or tense area. This then allows the muscle fibres to be re-aligned as they heal and to progress towards stretching and strengthening the area.
If the injury is very recent, then the sooner it can be treated, the quicker
the recovery will be. However new or old the injury is, treatment often takes
more than one appointment. This is to allow a recovery and repair time for
the body before the next part of the treatment takes place. Follow up is important
otherwise the injury can very quickly return to its original state. Treating
an injury can be likened to decorating your house: good preparation and thorough
follow up gives a much better opportunity for a full recovery.
Another cause of imbalance within the physical structures of the body is emotional stress. Stress often causes the body to manifest inner feelings in a physical way. This can result in bad posture and this can lead to tightening of one group of muscles whilst weakening others. Treatment can help correct the physical imbalances. Massage has its own unique set of qualities and on its own can encourage lymphatic flow and drainage. It can induce a feeling of well-being and relaxation.

Swedish / Holistic
/ Therapeutic Massage
Swedish (also called Holistic or Therapeutic) Massage involves the manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm and stress; and to promote health and well being.
Massage can relieve deeply held tensions in the muscle tissues so that blood circulation is improved, digestion is aided and the lymphatic system works more effectively. Massage promotes a feeling of well being and revitalisation.
What happens in a treatment?
Swedish/Holistic/Therapeutic Massage is received unclothed (with underwear on) under covers and lying down. You lie on a comfortable massage couch in a warm room whilst your therapist uses gliding strokes initially, such as 'effleurage', to soothe your muscles. Other techniques may be gradually introduced during the treatment such as 'petrissage', 'hacking', 'cupping' and 'tapotement', depending on your needs.
