Iridology is a diagnostic technique used in complementary medicine. It is the study of the iris of the eye. Iridology can reveal imbalances, inherited weakness, toxic accumulations, and give a clear picture of the health of ones intestinal system.

The health of the circulatory, respiratory, lymphatic and gastro-intestinal systems can also be revealed quite clearly. The level of toxicity (an important factor in the development of illness) will also be recorded as will the state of a person’s constitution. Changes in the iris can appear as the body changes internally so any treatment programme that is taken can be assessed for its progress by checking the iris regularly.

 What happens during a treatment?

During a consultation a therapist will look into the iris of the eye using a simple torch magnifier. The results will be plotted on the famous iris chart. These will then be discussed with the client and a suitable treatment programme will be set. This will include dietary advice, and the use of vitamins, probiotics, herbs etc., along with other naturopathic measures such as salt baths and skin brushing. The iris will be reviewed after 1 or 2 months and the treatment programme adjusted accordingly.
