Reiki 
Reiki is
a Japanese word meaning "universal energy" or "universal life
force". It is an ancient form of hands on healing, using the energy all
around us. A Dr Mikao Usui rediscovered Reiki in the late 1800’s / early 1900's
and the Usui method is widely taught today. This gentle, safe and simple healing
method enhances the body’s natural ability to heal itself and leads to
a greater state of balance, well-being and harmony.
Reiki can help anyone at any stage of life. It can also be used for animals and plants.
What happens during a treatment?
During a Reiki treatment, the hands are placed lightly on 12 basic positions on the fully clothed body. The Reiki energy naturally activates and radiates via the palms of the practitioner’s hands. The recipient’s own healing mechanisms draw the right amount of energy wherever needed on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. Reiki allows the recipient to enter a state of balance where healing can take place. It is a transformational energy that can be life changing.
The experience of a Reiki treatment is usually a deep feeling of relaxation, protection, safety and comfort. Full treatments last 60 minutes. You may need to allow a little longer for your first appointment.
What conditions can Reiki help?
Most conditions can be treated from simple stress-related problems to the most chronic of illnesses such as M.S. and cancer.
Healing yourself
Reiki can be learnt by anybody from the age of 7 - 99+.
By attending a Reiki class of two days, one becomes attuned to the energy
which then allows a person to give healing to themselves and others.
That ability remains with the person for life.
